Your bike just came in a box from the UPS man and he didn’t offer to stay and help put it together? Follow these easy steps – breathe – and begin the bonding process.

Assemble Step 1Step 1: Remove the faceplate of your stem with the appropriate Hex wrench.

Assemble Step 2Step 2: Install handlebar on stem and install faceplate. Gently tighten with Hex wrench.
Step 3: Level your handlebars; brakes should angle downward at 45 degrees. Tighten faceplate with appropriate Hex wrench.

Assemble Step 4Step 4: Install the front wheel’s quick-release skewer , ensuring that the retention spring is set according to the included manufacturer’s guidelines.
Step 5: Check your front tire’s proper rotating direction (found on sidewall of tire) and attach front wheel to the fork.

Assemble Step 6Step 6: To install the brakes: squeeze brake calipers together, then insert notched cable noodle into the brake’s connector bracket.
Step 7: Squeeze brake lever to ensure proper alignment of the wheel and brake calipers. Note: ensure brake pads do not contact rim surface when brakes are not applied.

Assemble Step 8Step 8: Apply grease to the inside of seat tube.
Step 9: Insert seat post into seat tube. Adjust your saddle height to your desired position and firmly tighten seat collar with appropriate Hex wrench.

Assemble Step 10Step 10: Apply grease to the threads of your pedals.
Step 11: Hand-turn each pedal into the crankarms, turning both toward the front of the bike. (Notice Right and Left pedal markings and that each pedal is designed with left-handed threading)
Step 12: Tighten pedals with pedal wrench or appropriate Hex wrench.

Assemble Step 13Step 13: Using your 4, 5, and 6mm Hex wrenches, double-check all bolts (stem, bars, seatpost, brakes) for tightness.
Step 14: Double-check front and rear quick-release skewers quick-release skewers for proper tightness according to the included manufacturer’s instructions.
Step 15: Inflate both tires to the recommended inflation found on tire side walls. (Requires Presta compatible pump or Presta/Schrader valve adapters).
Step 16: You’re ready to ride. Remember to always wear a helmet. Enjoy your new Slingshot!
